Today I started a new job within my store. I am working on the sales floor during the day stocking and filling and also doing carry-outs when needed. My store manager approached me about a management position and I gladly accepted. This first move is the first part of the transition to reaching that position. I was busy most of the day. The first hour I did dairy and after that went to fill sale items but our backroom was bare! I couldn't find anything because I am not too familiar with things back there but, I think there wasn't really anything to find! I was looking for guidance from my boss but he was busy in meetings. I was feeling kind of overwhelmed. My first day of doing this and I have to prove myself and here I am kinda stumbling around!
I took a break to clear my mind (and I was getting really hungry). I texted Rob this HUGE text about how it was going and in the middle of this text I'm like "if I just relax and actually use my head this will go so so much easier". So, when I clocked back in that's what I did! I went and stocked a couple things that I could find and organized a LOT of things that we really disorderly. In between then I had to cover a break up front and I straightened the sale aisle and then it was almost time to go home! I finished up the day redoing a lot of the stuff in dairy that I did when I got there and then went up front.
I feel a lot better now that the shift is over. We get a truck tonight so there will be more stuff tomorrow. Towards the end of my shift my boss came to me and said he was sorry we didn't get to spend some time together today and I just said "well, maybe tomorrow". I am tired, but its a good tired. My legs are sore from actually using them! Its awesome!
